Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross river state, on Prosecution & Assets Recovery- Chief (Barr.) Ewah A. Obi has commenced the immediate recovery of government asset's presently from all unauthorized person's and establishments.
Barr Ewah, unveiled his commission in meeting with some MDAs and board of directors expresing the edict on the Office of Prosecution & Asset Recovery in alliance with the Governor's charge.
"The Office of Prosecution & Assets Recovery is basically to recover the Cross river state government assets". However, Many people still get misunderstanding between the Office of Asset Managements and, the Office of Prosecution & Asset Recovery, they are different. The Office of Assets recovery is charge with much responsibility and Governor Ayade who created this newly has given us a mandate to recover all unlawful assest". He said
Barr. Ewah, further elucidaed his mandate as the Special Adviser, Prosecution & Asset Recovery contradicting the past officials believes on the assets recovery, as persons and establishment trust it's pioneer by the governor to claim the state assets.
Ewah said, "The truth is this past and current government officials thinks it is the Governor that is requesting for this asset. "I will clearly state this without any sentiment, it is not Governor Ayade asset, it is the citizenry asset belonging to the good people of Cross river state. "In reality of me expressing this, the Governor Ben Ayade sourced for funds to mobilize his appointee's to carryout their numerous duties so as, to advance the state as well, to ease their daily responsibilities.
"To this effects, there was a clear message to all government beneficiary's to return what soever they were given in our economy believes, for the newly establishment/ administrators to take over assets from the past administrators. But, you can imagine how a person withholding Five, Six and even up to Ten vehicle's belonging to the citizenry's". How can we then grow?, How can we compete with our sister States?, How can we enhance the Governor industrial drive to be better than oil producing state? Barr. Obi, questioned.
He added, "People still expect the governor to recycle the state money on its previous purchase assets, instead of utilizing in continuity the already purchased. Ewah said, we cannot grow if we continue to tolerate unlawful persons and biding institutions withholding the government asset's and properties".
Continuing, "The office of the prosecution & assets recovery is working underground to see what actually is going on because defaulters will be prosecuted. In fact, past government officials are becoming landlord's collecting rents and faking all sorts of papers - we have their records and we are going after them lawfully".
Chief (Barr.) Ewah A. Obi, further appeal to all MDAs, Commissioner's, Chairmen of Commissions, Boards Members, House of Assembly and all relevant agencies to forward defaulters identity's to the Office of Prosecution and Asset Recovery for an urgent disciplinary measures.
Chief Speaking, "Office of Prosecution & Assets Recovery is optimistic to recover all assets from unlawful persons/establishments and you can quote me anywhere. "Immediately, the inventory list is handed over to me members of the board should be prepared for action, it is not going to be business as usual anymore".
In request, Barr. Ewah plea to "All Chief Executives of MDAs are by this notice kindly requested to forward to the Office of Prosecution & Assets Recovery, their comprehensive list of government properties not found vis-a-vis on respective hand over notes, giving details of their nature and contact addresses of their possible identified locations".
"The properties envisaged within the context shall include but not limited to Vehicles, funds/security, furniture's, Houses, computer accessories, land (developed or underdeveloped) etcetera. And, "Failure to comply with the Governor directive's our investigation will unwrap as already ongoing and, people will be sanction for complicity in accordance to the law, i hereby call for your good cooperation's on this clarion call". He ended.
