You see... I'm not an expert, but I think I have to say my view on this issue of Corona. Or is there anything wrong with that ? Thanks, I know that everything is right with it. And please don't mind any trivial mistakes I might have made in term of sentence construction or others.
One thing that I always admire about Nigerians is that we have clowns. We are blessed with many of them. So, their prowess of treating serious issues with some sort of unseriousness always make our problem simpler. Any problem that found itself in Nigeria, as I usually envision would be like " ah! omo naija, set awọn baddests " and will smile and leave. We are morons ! In any event, serious matter should be treated with utmost seriousness. We should not undertake unnecessary risk that can bring us nothing but pain. The issue of Corona Virus has become the current worldwide problem. And in every countries, its impact has been felt.
Sincerely, this pandemic is really dreadful and a lot has been lost due to its outbreak. I'm not writing this piece to instill fear (which actually I know I am not capable of) but just to remind those who may be interested, to be cautious and stay with the guidelines given by the ministry incharge. So, as we can see ( or hear), the Nigeria government is really trying in giving in the best it could. And one of the places in Africa where this virus is crawling (so to say) , that is, where it fail to walk fast or sprint is Nigeria. This... unlike the places like Italy where this virus has taken over. Nigeria ministry of health as comprised all those men of competence - deserve some accolades. Let's give them a round of applause !
I will like to tell you this, you may find it necessary: Africans are less susceptible to that Coro-virus. Those new cases being discovered in Nigeria are that of Nigerians outside who are coming in. So let's remain calm. And also, two cases has been reported to be well recovered of the disease after adequate Medical treatment. Thank God.
I sat somewhere yesterday and some people were talking about the virus as if it's a kind of problem that's destined not to fuck with us, Nigerians. The majority opinion of the discussants was that such a deadly diseases are for white men not us. It is usually generated from their side and that before it reach our side, that is, before it get to Africa it would be tired. I just couldn't get it. And from that assertion, I can actually feel the impact of ignorance and illiteracy.
Those people that are sharing tensed News online concerning COVID-19 should be rightly guided for such non-professional out-of-fear News they are sharing will bring more harm than good. I think it should be okay to just say some prayer and share with others. It is only the good side of corona-News that should be shared. Panicking causes pain.
It is not that we should remain in the darkness by not knowing the truth about the movement of this deadly virus that's manoeuvering around the world, but being cautious at this point in time is very needful, I think. Closing of school by Corona is seen as kind of measure to prevent the spread and at the same time to put in place some medical strategy to conquer it - this is according to hearsays.
You know, another thing is that Nigerians don't waste time, we don't waste opportunity. We grab things and we use it. So let me start from those who are making money through Corona: apart from those who report or publish writings to inform and educate people about Corona virus, there are others too. Many video clips that has to do with Corona comedy are there online. Those making those videos are making some cool cash. I heard while walking down my street today that there are pastors and clerics who are making there money by selling what they were selling, to there followers. So everything in life, no matter how difficult it poses itself, uhas some string of goodness. However, no matter what those that are doing things about Corona is doing, it should be faithful things. The people's current state of mind is not justifiable enough to be used to dupe them.
This is not a new case of outbreak of this kind of infection. We had, in this world in the past, encounter many other deadlies like it. HIV also is deadly, isn't it ? Ebola came too and left, and with some assurance this too is not going to stay permanently. We are dying, may God safe the world. Apart from the general one that we all aware of, that it came from China, we also heard that it is kind of Godly act towards the unrighteousness of us - human beings. This palava, is said to be kind of punishment from Supreme Being above. So I don't think I am sure of any these reasons attached, my prayer is just that He should be pleased with the world.
